Only in the UK is the phrase "property porn" a real thing. Our High Streets are full of Estate Agents (realtors), and our quoted dot com sector contains not one, but two, property aggregators.

Spend more than an hour with a Brit, and all too often the conversation will come round to property prices. And little wonder: housing dominates UK personal balances sheets. In no other country does it make up such an enormous share of assets. Why? Because UK property has outperformed that in other developed countries in the last 38 years.
